MORE than 30 jobs are to be created in York when a rail company opens a new base for its records in the city.
Network Rail is transferring its historical signalling, civil engineering and title deeds paperwork from 11 sites around the UK to a single centre.
The move will begin in March and is expected to be completed by autumn, when the new staff will take up their positions.
"These records are a vital part of engineering background for Network Rail," said the company's corporate records manager, Nigel Loadman.
"They are an important part of the process of modernising and maintaining the UK's railways."
