Man seriously hurt in Easingwold pub attack

Police are appealing for information after a man was attacked in a pub in the town centre.

A man in his forties suffered serious injuries to his face when he was assaulted in the Commercial Inn, in Easingwold Market Place, at about 5pm on Easter Sunday.

The attacker was with another man and police are appealing for information to help trace them both.

They are both described as being in their early twenties, about 5ft 6ins or 5ft 7ins tall, of average build and both men had dark brown hair. They were both wearing jeans and light-coloured tops.

They left the pub after the attack and were seen running across Market Place, before getting into a vehicle and driving off quickly.

The victim, who is believed to be from the Nottingham area, was taken to hospital for treatment.

Police are appealing for anyone with any information about the assault or who saw the men drive off to phone Northallerton CID on 0845 60 60 247 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
