Probe after woman injured in 'disturbance'
DETECTIVES are investigating an incident which left a woman needing hospital treatment in York.
Officers from York CID are looking into the circumstances surrounding a disturbance which took place in Dringfield Close, off Chaloners Road, Dringhouses, at about 8pm on Monday.
Neighbours said the area was cordoned off by police incident tape for several hours following the incident.
One woman, who asked not to be named, said she believed the disturbance involved people living in one of the bed-sits opposite her home.
She said: "I've got no idea what happened, but I saw police cars coming and going and an ambulance was outside for a while as well. It all looked like they were taking it quite seriously, whatever it was."
A North Yorkshire Police spokeswoman said a female was taken to York Hospital with minor injuries as a result of the incident.
Anyone with any information about what happened is asked to phone York Police on 0845 6060 247.
