A RESPITE centre in York is only £25,000 away from smashing through its £300,000 fundraising target.
A generous £14,000 donation from the Freemasons' Grand Charity has pushed the Woodlands MS Resource and Respite Care Centre even closer to its appeal target to fund four additional bedrooms, a hairdressing salon and additional storage for specialised equipment.
The Freemasons' donation will pay for hoist equipment and electric beds for each of the four rooms now under construction.
Paula Rawding, Woodlands' centre manager, said: "We are all thrilled that the Freemasons' Grand Charity has chosen to support Woodlands and can't thank them enough for their generosity."
Money is still needed for the Buy a Brick Appeal to equip the hairdressing salon and sluice room, and to equip and decorate the bedrooms.
Buy a Brick is Woodlands' biggest ever appeal. Donations can be made online by visiting www.justgiving.com/woodlandsmsbrickappeal or sending a cheque payable to Woodlands Respite Care Centre to 120 Thief Lane, Hull Road, York, YO10 3HU.
