THIS is what York's newest nightclub Tru looks like inside ahead of its official opening on Friday night.

These are the first images of what the York nightclub will look like after a £1 million facelift.

Management at the new night spot, formerly Toffs in Toft Green, have unveiled to The Press what customers can expect from the £1m refurbishment.

General manager, Chris Bateman, said everything was going to plan ahead of tomorrow night.

He said: "Everything is coming on as it should be, we're just sprinkling the pixie dust.

"We have got a big bank holiday weekend coming up for us with a VIP night on Friday night and on May 29 we are launching our over 25s night for the more mature and discerning clubber.

"It's a fantastic venue and I'm proud to be selected by Luminar to manage it. It's been a great deal of hard work, but the end result is worth it.

"Customers should really start to get excited, as this is going to be a special venue for relaxing with friends or having a good time on the dance floor."

As well as a new look to the venue, the investment has been spread across state-of-the-art lighting and sound to deliver the overall customer experience.

One of the key features at the venue will be the VIP booth areas that management are hiring out to give parties and celebrations an added touch of class.

Mr Bateman said: "If you're looking to impress someone or give them an evening they won't forget, then these booths have it all, starting at varying package offers.

"We have already received calls booking them for the opening weekends and we expect them to be a massive hit with our regulars."

The club will offer a number of different events and music genres, including chart, party, R'n'B, funky house, indie, 1970s and 1980s disco, and Northern Soul.

Tomorrow, the club is open from 9pm to 10pm for ticket only VIP guests, and from 10pm to 11pm it is free for members of the public.

Admission after that will be £3 before midnight and £5 after midnight.
