College case gathers evidence

AN INVESTIGATION into a Sydenham college by Lewisham Trading Standards is gaining momentum following allegations from another student.
Canway Health Care College re-opened last month in Kent House Road after moving from Ladywell Road, Lewisham.
It is being investigated following allegations by a former student that it falsely claimed it ran courses accredited by City & Guilds.
Since being reported in the News Shopper six weeks ago where college owner, Carmaleta Anderson, denied the allegation another student has stepped forward.
Both students claim they enrolled on courses they believed were approved by the City & Guilds qualification board only to find out afterwards the courses were not.
At the time of going to press, Mrs Anderson was unavailable for further comment.
